【步骤一：断句】

遇到长难句的第一步就是“断句”，其实就是快速准确的划分出句子中的各个意群。而如何快速准确的划分就需要找到明显的“标志”，这些标志包括但是不限于标点符号(比如冒号、破折号、分号、逗号)，或者是找连词(从属连词或并列连词)。

这个长难句中，可以通过标点快速的断句。

【步骤二：抓住干，理结构】

第二步就需要同学们用学过的语法知识，找到句子中的主干成分和修饰成分，并梳理它们之间的结构关系。

句子主干是the health research community should recruit to its cause not only well-known personalities…but all…。句子开头是because引导的一个原因状语从句。 主句中的谓语should recruit…to…，出现了宾语后置，还原语序应该是the health research community should recruit not only well-known personalities…but all…to its cause.

not only well-known personalities …和 but all who receive medical treatment是两个宾语的并列。who has made courageous statements about the value of animal research定语从句修饰Stephen Cooper，but all who recent medical treatment.引导定语从句修饰all。

【步骤三：定基本句意】

最后，因为最终受益人是病人，医疗机构应该积极争取，为了事业，不仅争取知名人员比如斯蒂芬库珀，曾经大胆陈述动物研究价值的人，而且争取所有接受过治疗的人。

【步骤四：准确表达】

译文：最后，由于最终的利益相关者还是那些病人，所以，医学研究机构不仅应该积极争取曾大胆陈述了动物研究价值的名人斯蒂芬·库珀，同时，还要争取所有接受过医疗的人去参与这项事业。
