There is a heated debate that whether smoking in public places should be forbidden totally. As a confirmed non-smoker, I hold that smoking in public places should be prohibited totally for its harmfulness to people.

The first reason is that public smoking will weaken the health of smoker himself as well as the people around. The well-known "second-hand smoking" will bring more harm to people who expose to smoke directly. Nicotine-the main harmful element in cigarette-will come into people's lung as they breathe. The second aspect is that more people may involve in this if the phenomenon of smoking in public places do not be considered much. If there is law ban smoke in all public places, the situation will be improved a lot for many smokers take cigarette not due to addiction but for social interactions. Finally, smoking is a heavy financial burden for most of long-term smokers.

I do not deny the freedom of smokers, but what I want to propose is the right of non-smokers. In summary, I strongly suggest the forbidding of smoking in all public places.
